library filecount appears incorrect
« on: September 22, 2006, 01:13:54 pm »

When I run the import operation, the dialog in the action window reads:
IMPORTING MEDIA
Analyzing Library
file: xxx,xxx out of 110,729

The problem is there are only 85,623 files when viewing the library in MC, including all file types.
I have only music files, and I did double check for image and video files as well to be certain before I posted this.

So, why would the import be analyzing 25,000 more files than there are in existance?

How many files does this search find?  ~d=a

That did the trick!
I made a SmartList  ~d=a -[Media Type]=[Audio] which showed everything that I needed to eliminate.
Now the numbers match and I can stop obsessing ;)
Thank you Mr B.
