Monitor switching off while watching Video
« on: December 29, 2006, 03:11:48 pm »

I have my monitor set to switch off after about 5 minutes, and have always found that this continues to happen while watching video (from my library or from a DVD) when using Media Center.  Using other DVD playing software I don't have this problem.

I've heard from other people using Media Center that this doesn't happen, and yet it's a problem I've always had, even after recently moving from XP to Vista.

Anyone else had this problem or know how to stop it?

Cheers, :)

MC only disables the screensaver / power saving when in Full Screen playback mode.  (because a screen saver may still be important in other modes like Theater View on a plasma TV, etc.)

Could this explain what you're describing?

It's in fullscreen playback mode that I'm having the problem - but have just tried setting a screensaver and it does disable that.
Have also just tried on my old desktop computer (rather than my laptop) and had no problem there.
