Start Menu shortcuts not being created
« on: November 02, 2006, 04:38:53 pm »

I am currently using MC 12.0.105. A couple of nights ago, I uninstalled and then reinstalled (did not select the options to delete registry entries or library) MC in an attempt to fix a problem that I was having with the TiVo server (which turned out to be fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling the TiVo desktop software). When I uninstalled, my Start Menu folder/shortcuts for MC 12 were deleted, but when I reinstalled - using the custom option and selecting to create all of the shortcuts (Desktop, Quick Launch, and Start Menu) - the Start Menu folder/shortcuts were not rebuilt. A few additional attempts to reinstall had the same results.

Any suggestions on how to get my Start Menu shortcuts to reappear?

Other than do what you did I don't know.  I'll see what's hosed tomorrow.

I was finally able to fix it after uninstalling MC completely (including registry entries - I backed them up first). Then I reinstalled and then restored my registry entries. My start menu shortcuts are now where they should be.
