Radio Mode is fantastic.  I use it all the time.  But there's only one "station".  I'd like to have multiple stations...so I don't have to set it up each time.

I'm defining a "station" as:

- A seed file/set of seed files
- "Use seed files" flag setting
- "Edit Radio Files..." settings

i.e. everything you select when you decide to Play Radio.

It looks the most-recent settings of "use seed files" and "Edit Radio Files..." settings are saved for when you use (right-click) Play (as radio) already.  I'd just like to save more of those settings (and the list of associated seed files).

Yes I know I could use Smartlists set on Shuffle to mimic much of this functionality.  But the one thing that Smartlists don't get me is the dynamic build of Playing Now.  I use xpTunes (another great tool, I hope Markus "goes gold" with it soon, it has incredible functionality and is rock-solid stable) to control my server remotely and put in "requests" to the "radio station".  But xpTunes can only add to the end of Playing Now, not insert into Playing Now after the currently-playing track.  So without the dynamic build of Playing Now, my "requests" don't get played for a long time.

Since radio learns based on plays and skips, that information is perhaps the most important thing to define a station.

However, radio is supposed to be easy and a little random, so we're reluctant to add too much more complexity.

If one had to compare it to using a "real" world radio, one would scan the stations, but then "bookmark" the stations one liked.
Similarly if MC had to learn what the user is feeling in the mood for by the plays and skips, it would be great if the user could at least save that current MC Radio based on it's plays and skips.
Eg. For switching off MC if need be, one could save the radio memory of what has been played and skipped, for when one wishes to resume that specific radio memory when ever the user wishes ... ("save radio as......")

Ah, I see your point but I have a different take on what's important to me in radio.  To me the most important thing is limiting the pool of available songs in radio to those defined in "Edit Radio Files...".  I don't really use the plays and skips to further refine what the radio plays very often, so if that info were not recorded along with the radio station it wouldn't matter to me.  I could live without the list of seed songs also.

Mainly what I want is a station for me, a station for my wife, and a "family-friendly" station.  I might also want further an 80s station, an Indie Pop station, a singer-songwriter station, etc.

Once again I know that a shuffled Smartlist would do this, but it wouldn't dynamically build Playing Now which is important to me (because of the interaction between MC and xpTunes).  I realize that I'm probably a bit of a special case.  At least that's what my wife says.   ::)
