failed to find local media server
« on: September 19, 2008, 04:08:05 am »

Bump..
Anyone?

Hello,

I've started my servers (upnp and library) with their default settings. However, when the client tries to contact the server it gets the message "failed to find local media server".
The client is in the same network at my office. We both have MC 12.

What should I check to resolve this problem?

Thanks!

Could be a firewall problem.  Could be routing.  Could be a port blocked by your company.

Try connecting to the specific IP address.  Try connecting to Library Server from the same PC.

There's more info in our wiki here:
