I just got myself an MCE remote (this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16880121001) to replace my old Irman receiver and I don't think things work with MC as they are supposed to. My sense was that starting with MC 13, MC pre-empted MCE and that pressing buttons on the remote should send commands to MC not MCE. Now, the basic buttons on my new remote (arrows, ok, back) work fine but a number of other buttons launch MCE (the Green Button starts MCE instead of MC and most of the top buttons (Music, Video, Guide, Info, etc. launch the corresponding functions in MCE not MC). I have a feeling I've missed something somewhere but I'm not sure what.

Using MC 14.0.150, Windows 7 Home Premium.

MC has an option to disable MCE.  Try the search window in options.

Thanks. I knew I had probably overlooked something. On the other hand, I would have expected this option to be somewhere under Remote Control rather than Theater View.

Following up on this with another question: once MCE has been disabled, is there a way to configure the system so that the Green Button will launch Media Center when it's not running?

I have done this:

MC has an option to disable MCE.  Try the search window in options.

And it all works, but after I have shut down the computer, and started it up again
it dosn't work anymore.

Then I can reset all remotecontrols in MC and set it to learn and it works until I shot the computer down again.

Anyway to fix this??
