Hi all,

I've spent the last hour looking for a guide to get the netbook remote feature working, sometimes called Tremote. I've seen the main post for it, seen the video of it working, but cannot find a guide in the Wiki or anywhere else to know how to set it up. I know there is new a web interface, but that's not what I'd like right now.

So far I have been able to import the library from the other computer and play songs from that library on the netbook, but not control the original computer like a remote.

On the server, make sure you have Library Server turned on.

On the client, connect to Library Server from File/Library.

When you have connected successfully, there will be a zone under Playing Now called "There....".  Choose it.  Drag songs to it.

As a suggestion for a possible improvement, could there be an easier way than dragging an album / song to the "there..." zone? Perhaps a toggle, something like "play here" and "play there"? Or a 2nd play button?

Just change zones, then it will be exactly like you're on the remote machine.

You're welcome.  I'm glad you got it going.

I think that once you select that zone, you can just play anything from the library and it will go there.

Thanks the tips. I've got it to work, by clicking on "There:Zone1" in "Playing Now". Clicking on it selects it (blue bar in background), then I can go to the library and it plays on the other computer.

I'm sure this is all 2nd nature to you all, but for me this was a learning curve!
