Anyone brave enough to forecast the result !!!

I'll go for England 3 Brazil 0

but it'll be a good game whatever - it's broadcast in England at 7.30am Friday morning

Perhaps JimH might send an MJ t-shirt to anyone predicting the correct result......

Have a good day everybody - Jim

It will be close. 2-1 but I don't know who for.

This is definitely the wackiest, craziest and best World Cup in my memory (except 1966 when England won). The last 8 teams has so many nations who have never been this far before. This is great for world soccer.

If England don't win the tounament I hope we have a new winner, i.e. not Brazil or Germany - not because I don't like either nation, but it would be good to see a different name on the cup.

My forecast,

England: 2, Brazil: 1
(1,1)at full time and golden goal by Owen !

Apart from that I stand with Senegal. Next Page
Hope they'll reach the semi finals !

The way things are going, the final will be Senegal -- South Korea. And Senegal will win, since they are what Brazil used to be.

England's gone kinda world-cup crazy. Red and white flags everywhere and most schools are opening tomorrow at 7am for the kids to watch the match with their schoolfriends. Lots of calls for a bank holiday if we win which is a bit unnecessary as most fans will be super-inebriated if they do it. Or, if they don't do it !!. Great stuff, almost like going back to 1966 when West Ham (my team, obviously) won the World Cup on behalf of England

Have a great day all - Jim

I'll go for:  England 1   Brazil 2  (after extra time)

The fact that I'm Scottish has no bearing on my prediction.   I hope England do win ... but I'm being realistic.

England did well but Brazil did the business. I hope they take it through to the final and win the tournament!

Being a Brit myself I am gutted that England lost that match, but we simply were not good enough after Michael Owen's goal. Brazil are a class apart. That free kick from Ronaldinho's was pure Roy of the Rover's stuff. I hope they go all the way now.

Perhaps you should explain Roy of the Rovers to the rest of the world !! It should make interesting reading and just a pity that he was'nt playing against Brazil. He would have got the equaliser in the 90th minute and then the winner in extra time after a 90 yard sprint with the ball, going round at least 5 Brazilian players and then putting the ball in the top left hand corner of the net. And, all this with a broken leg - that's Roy !!!

Personally I'm looking forward to the next Korean match - I don't believe there's anyone who would'nt have enjoyed the performance they put up the other day - fantastic stuff, never a dull moment .
