Rex Madden Archos Question
« on: May 21, 2002, 06:09:57 am »

Rex Madden,

If your Archos shows up as a drive letter in Explorer, we should be able to show it in MJ. Can you tell me what the volume label is for the Recorder 10. If it has the word Archos in it, it should appear. If not, can you tell me the default volume label for the Recorder 10 and I will modify MJ to be sure to show it as a supported device.

Thanks.

steve,

how about adding this recognition string as a user configurable option?
(I don't own an Archos yet... still waiting for their Multimedia Jukebox to be released....)

Ingo,

This seems like a good idea to me. We used to have an option when the Archos was a separate Plug-in in version 7. I don't know if we can slip it in now that we are in the final stages of getting ready to release, but I will try. If not now, I will add it in the next version. Thanks for the suggestion.

steve,

maybe you could slip it in via a (partly) hidden registry setting...

Ingo and Rex,

This feature is now included. Fixed Drive Portables with an undetected volume label can now manually assign the correct volume label by going to Plug-in manager, selecting the "Portable Drives" Plug-in and selecting "Configure".

Thanks again for the suggestion.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you.  Haven't checked the forum in a while.  Unfortunately, the wife took the Archos from me for a few days (and she said it was a waste of money!) so I'll have to let you know if it works next week.  Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the update. Just let me know if you need anything else (besides a court order demanding a return of your Archos Next Page)

Worked great.  By the way, the volume name is "JUKEBOX10"
