Is Media Center 17.0.182 trial version the "full feature set"?

Do I have to purchase Media Center 17.0.182 to get the full feature set, or should the trial version be complete as indicated on the MC download webpage?

I'm a first time user trying to install Media Center 17.0.182 on a freshly built PC, i7 3.4GHz 16GB, Win 7 x64 bit Professional SP1, Microsoft Security Essentials, MS Office Pro etc - all new licensed software.

To test the MC software I've been trying to rip a CD to MP3.  The only encoder option installing is APE, and I'm unable to install other plug ins.

Over the past 3 days I’ve tried installing JRiver Media Center 17.0.182 from scratch 4 times, completely uninstalling and rebooting each time. Each time it says it has installed 4372 / 4372 files. When I go to the Rip Disc / Action Window / Options, the only encoder it installed is APE, yet when I setup for custom download / install I’ve selected FLAC WAV MP3 etc., all the common formats. When I go to “download more encoders” webpage, there are 0 encoder plugins to choose from. I get the same result when doing the default download / install.

According to the MC download page the “trial version” has the full feature set, but I’m obviously not getting them.

Do I have to purchase Media Center 17.0.182 to get the full feature set?

Thanks
Sam

It's the full version.  Try changing the encoding to MP3.  It's part of the options when you rip a CD.

Hi JimH

MP3 is not there as an encoder option under Rip Disc. Only APE is available. See attached pdf of screen shots.

Re-stating my original question:
When I setup for custom download / install I’ve selected FLAC WAV MP3 etc., all the common formats.

(After inserting CD and selecting Rip Disc) When I go to the Rip Disc / Action Window / Options, the only encoder installed is APE. ( MP3 is not available as a choice - see screen shot).

When I go to (Rip Disc / Action Window / Options) “download more encoders” webpage, there are 0 encoder plugins to choose from - see screen shot.

I get the same result when doing the default download / install.

If the MC “trial version” has the full feature set, I’m either not getting them, or I'm doing something wrong.

Hope you can help.

Thanks
