DSD and PCM with Mytec 192 DSD
« on: November 07, 2014, 03:32:36 am »

Hello I am new member from Germany.  First I want say thank you  to all for JRiver MC and the App and of course for the great support here.

I am using JRiver on a Windows  7 System with the Mytec 192 DSD DAC with analogue Output  to a conventional  Stereosystem.  Driver USB WASAPI (ASIO does not work).

DSD files are playing very fine.  But when I play PCM-Files the DAC shows in its Display still “DSD”.
Does that mean, that every file is converted to DSD?

And is there a possibility to Customize JRiver only once,  so that it will sent DSD (DoP) to the DAC  (in  the case of DSD/DFF  files) and PCM (without converting in the case, when a  44,1kHZ/16bit etc. is playing)?

Thank you for any help.

Welcome to the forum and thank you for the kind words.

Please take a look at MC's DSP Studio > Output Settings.

Disable DSD Encoding in the DSP Studio.
Enable DSD Bitstreaming in the audio options. (Tools → Options → Audio → Settings → Bitstreaming)
