Tag/grouping question

I have a Looney tunes collection for my daughter. I have all cartoons featuring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Roadrunner etc., in separate folders. I have each cartoon identified by the S(the year) and the Episode i.e. S1948E14. When I imported the collection MC and ran the get movie and TV info MC found and added the description for most of the cartoons. MC correctly grouped the cartoons by the year. My issue is that Bugs Bunny and the rest appeared over multiple years. I would like to group them by each character. I thought about changing the years of each individual character to the same (for example all of Bugs 1948, all of Daffy 1949) so they would be grouped together by year. This would probably lose the description and I would like to keep if possible. Is there a tag or something I can do to each file to have them grouped by each character without losing the description.

use a tag such as keywords, comments, actors, etc. (or make a custom tag) and enter the description (bugs, daffy, etc.)
then you can create your view to group by (bugs, daffy, etc) but keep all the other data intact

thanks for the response. I understand the keywords tag. For my clarification when you say create your view are you referring to customizing your view. right now the looney tunes appears in the shows view along with my other tv series and cartoon series. while I am at my office and MC is a client of my home server. I did right click on looney tunes from the dropdown of all series under shows. There is the option to customize view. Although it is grayed out here on the client I am sure It would be available on the computer I am using for the MC server at my home or would I need to do this under options> theater view.

yes, customizing the view to show what you want. using [keywords] will allow you to group by [keyword] in the customize view options, which will then sort by the character
it will be hard to create a view that shows them listed by character, in a view that also shows all your other TV shows at the same time. in that case i'd probably look at changing the [name] to have Bugs, daffy, etc. first in the name (i.e. Bugs-looney tunes-s1948e14). if you use [keywords] or something similar to enter the character it will make it very simple to rename all the files at once.
i don't usually go quite so deep with my sorting and if i do i usually just use "file" type sorting (i.e. folders)...so in your case i'd have loony tunes/bugs/episode list (etc.) but there may be a more elegant way to sort them with all your other shows...i'll have to think on it

Thank you. This should be enough for me to get it the way that I want.
