Check the top of the MC21 board.
The "vision" for MC21 is set out here:

http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=99214.0Also, I still have MC 20 on my computer. Should I uninstall that? And delete all the registry stuff from MC 20? Everything's working fine with 21 I just wanted to check on these things.
Thanks!

To the best of my knowledge, MC20 and MC21 can happily co-exist on the same OS and run at the same time (well, they do in my world anyway). There are some things you can do to avoid conflict that I can think of (not sure what the official recommendation is) but here goes for what to consider / what makes sense to me:
- If you have MC setup to start up on launching windows, then check Tools>Options>Startup>Windows Startup on the old version and set it to something suitable. In my case, that's now Never for MC20 and MC21 boots the MC server on startup so that TV recording will function in the background.
The Windows registries should pick up on these details, so that's all that you should need to do in that regard.
- If you typically launch media files from Windows/File Explorer, then (certainly in my case) I've noticed that file type associations may not be correctly aligned following the upgrade from MC20 to MC21. I'm aware that MC takes its lead from the last version installed.
Even so, I'd suggest taking a look at Tools>Options>File Types in MC21 and make sure that it suits your preferences. You could then double check Windows that Control Panel>All Control Panel Items>Default Programs>Set Default Programs>JRiver Media Center 21 has picked up on MC21's instructions. In my case, I noticed that MC20 was still specified in some cases. For the files that are typically launched on my system via Explorer, I made sure that MC21 was associated and I found that I had to flick the switch via the Windows Control Panel path as referred to previously.
[NOTE: I've recently raised this with the devs. At this stage it's not clear whether this is behaviour local to me or a systemic issue but I think it can't hurt to check, since we're talking about aspects relevant to transition.]
Also, there's this post on what data migrates from MC20 to MC21:
