MC 19 Not playing - no output sound
« on: September 06, 2015, 08:51:59 am »

I have been using MC19 version 63 for years and works wonderfully with AMR DP 777. All the sudden, I have new issue when turning on DAC and hit play, once in a while MC 19 does not show any songs play when I hit the play button. No sound either.  I check the DAC Asio and USB hardware,  the computer recognizes it, when I unplug and plug the USB at the DAC, it works but sometimes it does not work. I re-install the AMR Asio driver, still doing the same thing, but this issue is intermittent, sometimes I don't have problem when turn on the DAC.

If anyone can help me, it is greatly appreciated, I love this software and system, but need to make the overall system very reliable. thanks.

What changed?

19.0.63 is not the latest version of MC19 available.  See "Old Versions" on our wiki for a link.

What changed?

Did you try powering everything down and back up?

The last change is updating ASIO drivers from AMR. I did power it down the PC and AMR DAC, yesterday and power back up. It was working when I power both PC and DAC at the same time, but when I have PC on and power up only DAC, this problems happens.

I did purchase linear power supply and power up the SOTM usb card and IFI USB Power with this linear power supply.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated ?

If the connection is USB, try other USB ports.

Normally when things go wrong after a change, reversing the changes is the best course.  If you made several changes, reverse them all, check that it works, then add them back, one at a time, using the system for a few days before you change the next.

I figure this out. It looks like the DAC does not like to have USB input without power on USB cable. My USB card has option to shut down the power in USB cable.

I turn on the USB power in the computer and it works. It is weird, the computer recognizes the DAC but when hit play button at JRiver, no sounds come out.
