[REQ] Need something more than "Error"
« on: October 13, 2015, 12:52:22 pm »

I have been having a problem lately and I'm trying to diagnose whether it is the PC, MC21, the antenna, the tuner, or something else.

So, I chose a station at random, and clicked record and nothing appeared in the selected folder.  I clicked on "Status" and it says "State: Error".  So, it would be helpful to list - if at all possible - the specific problem - "no signal" or "insufficient disk space" etc.  Thanks!

I tried again and this time caught a pop up dialog with information ... and a timer saying "this dialog will close in _ seconds" and then vanished.

Is there some way to get that information to write to a log file - or else optionally set them not to close in _ seconds ?

Thanks !

The dialog auto closes because the problem can happen when no one is attending to it (such as scheduled recording).  There is no settings to change that behavior.

Do you get an error when you just try playing a channel instead of recording?

I will take a look at putting more info in the status.

The particular laptop that I use as a DVR does not have enough specs to view HD video (1.7ghz, 1gb), so I only use it to record programs that are written over ethernet to an external hard drive on the router which can be accessed throughout the local network.
