MC on second pc won't open
« on: February 23, 2016, 08:08:38 pm »

I installed MC on a second pc, but every time I try to open it, it asks me to restore. I've used up a bunch of restores but they never make the program work permanently on my second pc. What do I need to do?

Hi,
You must give mc21.exe full access on your firewall.
At least that did the trik for me.

Greats

I don't see why. I didn't give MC full access to my firewall on my original installation on my laptop.
Further, I've been able to copy playlists from one computer to the other.

It's just that the version on my 2nd computer seems to still be the trial version, even after entering the registration code.

Sometimes licensing gets confused when you have two different versions of MC installed.  For example, if you have MC20 and MC21 installed, sometimes the licensing process will run MC20 instead of MC21.  It will seem to work, but then MC21 isn't licensed.

The solution is either to remove MC20, or go into MC21 explicitly and enter the registration code there.

Someone else who knows more might have more or better information on this.

Brian.

I believe it happens when the older version was the last one that had been run.  It then has the association with the .mjr file type.  Running the newer version first should fix it.

I installed MC on both computers a couple of months ago and did both installations within a week of each other. I'm pretty sure they're both the same version.
