I was wondering if anyone had created or will be creating a mIRC DDE plugin, to send the song information to channels I'm talking on in mIRC? That's the only reason I still use Winamp, every so often

I created a chat program but there did not seem to be much intrest.

then i created a chat program and a chat server to create a chat room and there did not seem to be much intrest. so i stopped playing with it.

King - main reason probably is everyone wants to use a chat program to chat to their friends - when they're all using MSN theres not much point us logging into our own program with none of them on it

Maybe we should just set a up an IRC chat room for MC help. So you can get live answers to your problems. Its another line of support. I would quite happily do an hours stint in there a night answering Qs and I am sure lots of others would too. We could have guest appearences by MCs main people like Jim and Matt...

I was just looking for a plugin that sends DDE messages to mIRC, w/ the song info (artist, title, bitrate, etc) ... not a whole chat program to talk with other MC users...

so when your chating you can show whats playing?

Yep

Winamp has at least one or two plugins for this purpose.. but MC > Winamp imho, and this is the only plugin I've been looking for for MC

AlbumView does this (which only costs £7 and does tons more) but if you want I can strip out the relevant code and create a new plugin that will do it for you.

So all you will have to do is hit CTRL+ALT+F9 which will copy playing now (along with any other text you want, e.g. /me, to the clipboard) then CTRL+V into mIRC.

Should be able to do it this weekend as it will only take a couple of hours to do.

Let me know if you want me to go ahead.

It's nearly finished too ... probably release it tonight with the source code so peeps can see how not to code

It's done but I am trying to get pasting into the current window working.

If I can't get it done by the end of they day then I'll release it as is and will have to issue the CTRL+V yourself to paste it into mIRC.

Here's an example of a hotkey:

HotkeyTokens1=/m e is playing: <red><Name><purple> - <red><Album><purple> [Time: <Duration> | <Bitrate> kbps <Type> | <FileSize>]

The /m e is only for this forum's benefit so you can see the IRC text. It is really the / me command.
