Is this possible? if so how?
« on: September 04, 2016, 09:23:42 pm »

Looking to watch a video while at the same time listening to the audio of a music file without the need of running two instances of MC.  The audio of the video would be muted and just music playing - swapping back and forth as well as running both audio sources at the same time would be cool too.  Not sure if this is possible but would be useful on occasion.

You can almost certainly do this with zones.  Make a new zone, set the audio output to "Null" or to an unused audio device.  Start the video playing in that zone.  Switch to your original zone and start the audio. Switch back to the video zone and you're done.

You could also have them both set to the same sound device with the volume turned down or off in the video zone, but you'd have to use a non-exclusive output mode (like Direct Sound).
