Buying a Raspberry Pi for the Id

The IdPi is Id software built for the Raspberry Pi 3. It currently supports the Raspberry Pi 3 B and Pi 3 B+. The required components are the Pi 3 B/B+ board and a micro USB power supply capable of providing 5V and 2.5 amps. Several companies sell kits that include the board, the power supply, and a case.  These kits sometimes include a microSD card, but this is not necessary for the IdPi.

If you decide to buy parts separately, be sure to get a power supply that provides 2.5 Amps.  Power Requirements

Please bear with a simple question. I was gifted a raspberry pi and would like to buy the SD card and get it configured to work with j river. Is the installation software easy to figure out? All I have done so far is identified the device on my network.

If you're planning to buy the IdPi microSD card, it's very easy to configure.  Linux and MC are already installed.

Will you be testing the new 3 B+ Pi boards for compatibility with MC IdPi?

I have the first of two 3 B+ boards arriving today, but I don't think it will work as that new board requires the latest version of Stretch to my knowledge. What is IdPi running on, Jessie?

The one being delivered today is from PiShop.us in Newark, DE.

Another board has now shipped from Adafruit, I should have that one tomorrow or Wednesday.

Got the IdPi firmware working on the 3B+ after a bunch of updates and fixing a bug in the latest kernel ethernet driver.
No release date for the updated firmware yet.

Quick question: How much RAM is recommended for the Pi 4 to run Id?

I believe it runs on any Pi4.
