My Media 22 won't open on my MAC Book Pro. I'm now getting a color wheel. Previously when it did open I could not play any music. I have never been able to use this program from version 19 to 22. I keep buying it, because other high end audio people use it. I live in the Los Angeles Area and I'll pay to get this up and running. 310-466-1040 I'm Bill

Well, first things first. What version of Mac OS X/macOS are you using?

Are you making sure you open the .dmg file and drag and drop Media Center 22 into the Applications folder and start it from there?

Hi. I am having the same issue. I already restored the license 2x. It keeps lingering and will not play music. I restored the version 22 multiple times.

I have mac mini 2014 yosemite with 8gb. My music is in my external hard drive. For library i imported setting from external hard drive.

You must install MC22 first and then restore your license. You've probably missed the install part.

what do you mean…..I downloaded, installed into app and from their i open the jriver…..is that wrong?

i downloaded a trial version and then purchase a license for $49.98….it worked without a hiccup and then now everytime I try to use it, it freezes….

I just redown loaded after removing all the jriver files from going through finder. Empty the trash. Download dmg, installed into app, from app i opened the file. Again same thing. It freezes. I was able to play one song but it froze in the middle part of the song.

This is a common problem with Mac installs. By default it is analyzing the contents of your library, but more than likely it is hitting a file that causes MC to crash. Try turning off the auto-analyze feature under "Configure auto-import".

Went to option tools then library and unchecked all the auto import settings , it did not work. I restored the computer to factory settings and again it did not work. Im beyond frustrated.

Update. So i turned off the computer after unchecking all of the auto import setting from options as suggested by djlegba. Again i had to force quit due to hang. Restarted the computer, and now its playing music. I don't know what triggered to run again but thank you djlegba and others for helping out. I got my fingers crossed. I will test further next few days. I only got to play one song so far.

I hope your problem is resolved.

The crash on analyze problem is especially frustrating to new users, who aren't even aware that MC is running this task (or why). And even when it doesn't crash, it can slow down the computer. The folks at JRiver should consider changing the default setting to unchecked. It would save a lot of people a lot of grief, and probably boost sales. Not everyone who runs into a problem comes to the board for advice.

If it's crashing (and not crashing anymore after disabling auto-import) your best bet is to enable logging (Help > Logging and enable it there) then reproduce the issue/crash by running auto-import, then posting the log here.

If it does indeed crash with auto-import, it's likely because there's a bad file or files in your library causing it.

thank you for the tips...I will try jriver later today after work

.....Funny thing is everytime I try to change settings I will get hangups as well....Its been very frustrating indeed. I had family over the holidays and fiddled around for couple of hours to get music started. Unfortunately, no success.

So far, only thing i can do jriver is play songs. If i need to go and change settings or options, flywheel appears and gets stuck again. Any other suggestions?
