I have downloaded the trial version and when I try to load the library from an external HD it only loads 719 files far short of the total in the folder'
Is there a limit on the trial version?
I have MC 21 on my mac and want to purchase MC 22 for a friend.

Try setting the auto import options under Tools > Import.

I set the auto import and checked sub files. it still only loaded 719 files
Folder  H:\All Music 2  1 17\Music\
Mode include this folder and all child folders

All of the music is on an external HD called all music 2 1 17/music containing 30.087 files and 3410 folders

I figure it out, I only put in H:/ and it loaded all of the music.
