I found the above discussion related to my subject and it explained how to do what I want done to a handful of files and I understand that process.  But I have thousands that I would like to do this to.  Is there a global way to append a Space and then a Text String to the end of the Album Names of thousands of files? 

BTW, all these files are located in the same Library.  So, I don't have to first identify (sort out) the ones that I want to do this to.

Sure.  The procedure is something like this:

Select some files.  This could be 1, 5, 10, or 10,000 .  It doesn't really matter.
Open the tagging window with Edit > Tag
Find the Album tag.  Click in it to edit.
Type in: 

Code: [Select]

=[Album] My Extra Text Goes Here
Press enter, or click outside the window to save.  Done.

Test this on one file first.  Then do a few files (maybe an album or two).  Then you can do all the rest at once, since you should be sure that you've gotten it right at that stage.

You should probably make a library backup first, just in case:  File > Library > backup library
