You can set a stream to be your default audio stream. The choice is saved in the channel object, so each time you start that channel, the same audio stream will be loaded. While a channel is playing, right-click > Audio Programs, and make your choice first. Then right-click and choose Audio Programs > Use current audio stream as default.

This reminds me, I need to try making this work for OpenCable/CableCARD tuners. Currently it works for ATSC and DVB tuners.

I can't believe that JRiver still doesn't support the European standard for encoding pay TV: Common Interface (CI) / Conditional Access Modules (CAM).
Are there any plans for doing so?
Does anyone at JRiver care about the European market?

My local area now has ATSC3 signals for NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, and others.

Yes, I have the tuner. Northern California area.
It works using the SiliconDust App in Win10, Android, Roku, FireTv, etc.
As for 3rd party software, the hurdle seems to be that tv stations are broadcasting ATSC3 using AC-4 audio and HEVC video. I am still testing MC - video may work, but audio is the gotcha.

I would like an option to allow closed captions to be enabled automatically when playing back recorded TV programs. Enabling them each time takes either several mouse clicks, or many presses of the remote in the OSD in theater view. I have several TV programs I record daily, and I believe Media Center should not require me to turn on closed captions manually for each file. NextPVR has a global setting for turning on closed captions that sticks around.

Note that I currently still record my TV programs with NextPVR at this time, but I want to watch them in Media Center due to better rendering.

Added request for Tv Tuner Info page for Theater view:
- dedicated Theater view page showing live view of what each/all the tuners are currently doing. Simple options could be = Idle, or Live Tv (channel + Server/Client), or Recording (channel + program name + duration).

Playback of recorded TV shows is in the realm of "video playback" and the setting is already there. Tools > Options... > Video > Subtitles & Language > Subtitle mode: Always show subtitles

@yaobing,

Being able to detect encrypted channels during a DVB-S/S2 scan would be a massive plus for a lot of us in the UK.

If there was a flag that could be set against an encrypted channel, we could then choose to hide or delete them after running a scan and get rid of hundreds of channels

It will be in the next Latest build (80 or higher, when it is released on MC30 board).

We have been able to scan the "scrambled" bit for many years, but we just ignored it. Now I just made sure we save the flag, and display it on Manage TV Channels dialog. Hope it works as I am not able to test.

Just upgraded to build 82. Ran a new scan. The scrambled flag was not showing for me under details in the manage channels dialogue. Went into smartlists, created a new list for tv channels with the keyword scrambled and had almost 400 channels appear that I could delete immediately.

This part is not working? I tested it with a manually added fake DVBT channel. It seemed to work.

Thanks. I found the issue. I thought I did it for all DVB channel types, but it turns out I forgot DVB-C and DVB-S.

Obviously, you did not need to rely on this part to work to achieve what you wanted. Your method of using a TV channel smartlist is actually more efficient.

This is not a feature request so much as a slight improvement suggestion:

In Television mode, on the Recordings window, recorded programs are sorted by descending date order. I can sort by Program by clicking on the column heading, but it does not "stick" and always reverts back to a date sort. I find that annoying and want it to remember my preference.

I think most people use TV recording like an old VCR and only have a few things to watch then delete. In my case, I have many recordings and would like to sort by Program name then date or episode number.

Adding my long time request to have slow motion playback put into the OSD, so that it can be easily accessed using an IR MCE remote control just by pressing the up/down arrow (like aspect ratio/zoom/shift/etc). And an option to NOT pop-up the DSP window when slow motion is activated.
