DVD Video playback
« on: November 12, 2017, 03:49:23 pm »

I can't make DVD Video playback work on either of the two machines where I have jriver installed.

If the DVD is rendered through AnyDVD, there are frequent interrupts on video and audio. Without AnyDVD, the audio is OK, but no video. Swith to Red October HQ, I can get the audio to flow, but the video is rendered at a very slow speed, and thus skipping many frames frequently. I installed VLC media player to eliminate DVD Rom problems. THe video plays like a charm there...

How do I fix this?

Had a second look at my desktop. It is connected to a HD tv. The picture seems to be working OK as long as the picture is kept below a certain size. So perhaps it has something to do with the upscaling. This is with Red October HQ. No pucture with Red October (standard).
