We've upgraded the Id again. It's the third generation.

Intel NUC 6CAYH

4GB of Ram

First post on these "Id"-pages.

Are the IdNuc's available to international costumers? I've long been on the look for an Intel NUC which in conjunction with my JRiver MC23 software can act as a DLNA-server and HTPC in my setup. I could of course build one myself from scratch, but would like to inquire on the IdNuc's first.

Very good, so only the local customs expense to account for - which, given the price of the Id-units, shouldn't be all too intimidating. Are the 300 Series duly capable of Blu-ray playback and even 4K (UHD)?

No. Sorry. Blu-ray requires a reader like AnyDVD HD, and that isn't available on Linux. Similar story for 4K.

If your primary interest is video, then the Windows version of JRiver Media Center would be the best bet.

AnyDVD HD I got already, and I got the Master(?) version of MC for all OS platforms. Perhaps the easiest would be to pursue a DIY NUC of some kind.

my old Synology nas just crashed and now, considering this as a replacement.
i have at least 2 questions for you folks:
1) can i get a larger ssd than offered? e.g., 250gb
2) read elsewhere some issues with usb-connected ssd. is this still an issue?

Hi Jim, Hi Bob, I think I can understand Bluetooth loudspeakers not being permitted, but it is fristrating not to be allowed to use Bluetooth Keyboard /Mouse with the ID. The Latest ID with NUC6CAYH has bluetooth 4,2 but it appears to habe been disabled.

Any outlook that it will be useable for Keyboard/mouse in the fairly near future?

I'll take a look at that.
The older IdNUC's were having trouble booting with bluetooth enabled.
Bump this post if you haven't heard back in a week or two.

The keyboard and mouse should work fine.
Try plugging them into a different port (like on the back) or use a different keyboard if you have issues.
We've seen a few keyboard that pull too much power.

I read on the specs that this box has a toslink connection.

There is a multi-purpose 1/8" jack on it which is used for headphones and optical out. The adapter for optical out to a normal optical cable is not included but inexpensive (around $1 US).
The Id are on version 25.0.113.

I have a simple question: is the Id capable of providing HDMI and Analog/Toslink output simultaneously? My reading of the description and the instructions suggests not, but hoping it does. Those of us with some legacy equipment need this, and it would eliminate the need for an Audio Extractor. The fewer the boxes the better.

I am interested in the 300 ID nuc, but only if I can install a Pink Faun i2s bridge, I saw on the Intel site that this NUC has an open PCI slot and that should be where this card can plug in. the PF I2S HDMI card is a PCIe card. I have a Denafrips Pontus DAC, and this card is one of a few HDMI outputs that are known to work into it.
Will the ID software on this nuc allow this pci card to be installed and configured for the digital audio out?
