Import Folders Configuration Lost During Upgrade
« on: April 22, 2018, 09:56:25 pm »

I upgraded from 32 bit MC23 to 64 bit MC24 tonight.  For the most part, everything looks good. However, my entire import folder configuration was lost in the process.  If I start MC23 and load a backup of the 23 library that was made just before the upgrade, the configuration is there, so I can copy it over manually, but is there an easier way to get it back?  I’ve got a fairly lengthy list to bring over and some of the folders contain some reasonably complex setup...

Backup in one, restore in the other.  File > Library ...

Separate issue, but if you still have MC23 installed on the PC, check file associations in Windows. They don't seem to be reliably changed to the new version while the old version is still installed, or something like that. Changing the associations inside MC is a start, but it doesn't cover all file types.

Thanks @JimH - that worked.  I had made a backup prior to installing MC24, so I just needed to select it from the list.

I'm less concerned about that because I don't tend to try to play media externally to MC (such as double clicking a file in Windows Explorer).  But thanks for the heads up.  Once I'm comfortable that MC24 is working well for me, I'll uninstall MC23.
