MC 24 for Linux
« on: April 24, 2018, 03:41:34 pm »

I would like to upgrade to the Linux version of MC 24 on my NUC, I currently am at 23.XXXXX
I have been unable to find a Linux download site. Could you please direct me to it if it is available?

It's available in the release topic at the top of this forum section. But you didn't mention what distro you're running on your NUC, so it'd be hard to say which one you'd need.

What do you mean by distro?

I picked up my MC pre-loaded NUC at JRiver headquarters last December. I see nothing in the provided documentation about distro - do I need to watch the startup script execute to figure that out?

Look at the bottom of the text menu of the Id.

Sounds like you've got an NUC Id.

It's been built from a Debian distribution but you can think of it as JRiver's own operating system for simplicity.

Check the Id discussion board. Run a 12 upgrade command from the text menu with a monitor connected and you should be sorted.

Did you licence this Id previously?

Take a look at menu option 18. (EDIT: the attached pic is for an IdPi but the NUC Id should look pretty similar)

Go to the Id board and check out the post entitled, "Id Installation Instructions".

This information is normally provided somewhere in the details delivered to you, e.g. an email that includes stuff like, "Congratulations for choosing ... ". I suspect you've overlooked some of this.

A consequence of upgrading the Id MC from 23 to is that the license needs to be re-entered.
All NUC Id users are supplied with a license that will work on all NUC Id builds.

OK - menu option 18 worked like a champ. I picked up the Id will call style at JRiver, so no email. I was given the Id License ID on a ribbon of paper at pickup.

Thanks for all of the help. Much appreciated.

Any idea when the Streaming page of MC for Linux will functional?

I updated my NUC Id with Debian GNU/Linux to 24.0.18. Is this a beta version? There was no ask for payment.

If you used the Id menu to update, there is no charge.

I have JRemote 3.25 on my iPhone that no longer connects to my NUC Id. How do I get JRemote to function with my newly upgraded (24.0.18) NUC Id?

I figured it out. Disregard JRemote question.
