Upgrade to Master License
« on: June 01, 2018, 08:51:40 am »

Just upgraded to the "Master License" from my MAC so could use it on my PC. Spent my money, got the email with the Registration Code, cut and pasted the number into the Install License field and got told that license didn't exist.

Reboot.  Make sure MC24.0.27 or above is installed.  Make sure you're using the Master License.

I'm at 24.0.25 on the MAC. That is currently the latest version I'm seeing. I purchased the Master License by selecting Upgrade to Master License from the MAC. I downloaded whatever version you had as the default at 9:20am and tried to add the license code. I had just turned the PC on, downloaded the file and installed it. I'm beginning to think the hassles of this program outweigh its few virtues.

I just completely uninstalled it, reinstalled with the same file I downloaded earlier and this time it took. But now it won't RIP any DVD I put in. Four in a row have failed.

Ripping on what platform? Encrypted DVDs/Blu-rays (e.g. nearly all commercial releases) on Windows likely will require a third-party decryptor like AnyDVD.

Jim, the AnyDVD HD link in the DVD wiki article needs to be changed to the new domain/site, https://www.redfox.bz/

The link works now, as far as I can tell.  I didn't change it.

The AnyDVD HD link points to http://www.slysoft.com/en/ which is now a dead/parked domain.

Oh, the DVD page it points to the old one in the link under Requirements: https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/DVD

Yes, Blu-ray is correct though. My bad for not being specific. :)

I removed the reference there.  MC can rip a DVD.

Why has JRiver killed me after purchasing many! Licencenses.
Is the Licence only work for 1 year?
Then all prior songs which are purchased. Get Locked!
Will consider a advertising fraud here.
JRiver is exploiting our users.
Do Not Exploit.

Uhh, upgrades are optional, you don't need to upgrade if you don't want to. Once you purchase a specific version you can use that version as long as you want. Each major version of Media Center is basically its own standalone app with its own unique licenses. Media Center licenses don't expire so theorically they can be used forever.

If you're happy with the version of Media Center you're using, then don't upgrade.

If you're running out of restores for your license you might have an issue if Media Center is losing its registration.

Graham,
I just sent you a new license.  I think there's something wrong with your recent license.

Install MC28 and then restore the new license.
