MC22 was the first version that supported Pono.  Try reading more on this board.

Thank you Jim, sorry I must not have seen that. So I will need to upgrade my JRiver media player running on MY PC windows 10. Let me go look on the upgrade forum and see if it is self evident to go to at least MC 22. Timothy

Looking to buy a Pono player

I thought the Pono was dead. Certainly, Wikipedia still seems to think so: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pono_(digital_music_service)
So does Neil Young: http://www.noise11.com/news/r-i-p-pono-neil-young-kills-off-his-digital-player-20170423

Plus their website is pretty out of date and dysfunctional: https://www.ponomusic.com/

So are you going to buy a second hand one and use it for your existing media?

Let me go look on the upgrade forum and see if it is self evident to go to at least MC 22.

MC 24 is the latest version and is the only version available that you can upgrade to but it should support the Pono Player.

That said, I have to agree with Roderick though, Pono is more-or-less dead. If you buy one, you likely won't get any support from Pono for the Pono Player if something goes wrong with it. There are alternatives to the Pono Player out there though, like players from FiiO and Astell & Kern.

I don't work for JRiver... I help keep the forums safe from "male enhancements" and other sources of sketchy pharmaceuticals.

I wouldn't say that the Pono Player is dead.  There are a lot of them out there and it's not impossible to get good advice.  I do agree that the company is dead.
