Server install
« on: July 21, 2018, 08:05:25 am »

Hi

I’m running JRiver on a server in my home.
On the server I have all scanned movies.
On other PC’s I connect to the servers media library so that all clients have access to the same media library.

However, for the library on the server to be available to the client PC’s I have to run logon to the server and run JRiver.
This is of course not a good situation as I normally does not use the server and windows occasionally reboots due to different windows update.

Is JRiver capable of running as a service so that I do not need to logon and start JRiver?
If so, where can I find instructions about how to set this up?

no, it will not.  But, you can set auto login if you want.

I have done this, and then created a script that would run within a minute of logging in to lock the screen (if your concerned about security).

Run Media Server on Windows Startup.  Tools > Options > Startup.  Then auto-login.

(sorry for the late reply)

Thanks, that solved it!
I would have liked to see a solution that did not require auto-login, however this is good enough for my usage.
