Upgrade problem
« on: August 03, 2018, 06:32:24 pm »

I downloaded and extracted 24. Am currently using 22. It is stopping during the “Upgrading from previous version” and says “not responding”. Any tips on this? Thank you.

Trying to install a 64bit version of MC onto a 32bit operating system would do that. An antivirus program could also be the culprit.

I just went and tried to upgrade to 23 and it downloaded and installed perfectly. Something about 24 is snagging.

Check your antivirus settings in regards of JRiver MC 24 permissions.

I have no antivirus or firewall at this time. Install wizard always stops responding. I finally uninstalled 27 to try and start from scratch, now I have no program at all so I'm having alot of frustration. Completely lost which is unusual for me and computers.

If you're running (at least) Win10 or 11, you have Windows Defender running.  Read about it on the MC31 board.

Try downloading and installing MC31 just to test.

all forms of windows defender and firewall are always disable on this laptop. I didn't change anything but it actually just installed. I unplugged everything from it to sit on my lap to work. No idea how it worked this time but thank you!
