Help with the Rephase/JRiver/Rme
« on: August 31, 2018, 02:22:35 am »

Hello,

I am new to the site, after years of playing non-dsp studio monitors, i want evolve into diy and active dsp room correction stuff.

My first test is making a laptop digital crossover for one broken (amp) Neumann KH120.

My other test gear is:
RME babyface
JRiver mediacenter
Measurement mic
Power amps

I have made crossover filters with Rephase in txt form: "Low" and "High". The original analog crossover in KH120 is LinkwitzRiley 24db/oct at 2000Hz, which i made with the rephase.

1. First question is, how do i make a convolution file from those two "low" / "high" files that JRiver understands?

2. Babyface is the first edition, not PRO (allthough its almost the same).
It has analog 1/2 outputs and phones 3/4 output. For example how do i assign the jriver to play "low /Woofer" trhough output 1 (xlr ) and "high/Tweeter" phones (TRS)?

From those two outs XLR+TRS, i could then plug them to the power amps. And from poweramps to woofer / Tweeter, bypassing the KH120`s original amp&crossover.

In the future i will get multichannel DAC, but i would like to get this working first

Thanks!

Furthermore, under Windows --> Control panel ---> Hardware and Sound ---> Sound, devices listed is :

Speakers (Rme Babyface analog 1 -2)   (Rme babyface -Default device)
Analog (Phones 3-4)  (Rme babyface -Ready)
SDPIF/ADAT (1+2)    (Rme babyface -Ready)
Adat (3+4)               (Rme babyface -Ready)

I can choose only one output device..

How do i assign JRiver to play like this 2ch/2way:

Speakers Analog 1    (Left = Woofer )
Analog (phones 3-4)  (Phones 3 = Tweeter)

Or like this, in 3 way/3ch:

Speakers Analog 1-2  (left = woofer, Right = mid)
Analog (phones 3-4)   (phones 3= Tweeter)

i see the easy way:

Speakers Analog 1-2  (left = woofer, Right = Tweeter), but i would like to know the possiblities. Especially if i go for the Adat 8ch, since babyface can do it
