Using screen reader (Freedom Scientific Jaws)
« on: September 03, 2018, 08:06:26 am »

Hi all,

Looking at updating my Dad who is partially sighted from Windows 8.1 with Media Centre to Windows 10 with JRiver Media Centre. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if it will work with Freedon scientific Jaws, a screen reading software. I did try Kodi and it didn’t read that, which was what made me think I would ask before buying the software.

Thanks,

Neil

Probably not, but Panel might work.  It would be easy to try.

You can download the software for a thirty day free trial and then test it.

Tried Panel with the windows 10 Narrator and it kind of works but the use of images with no alt text tags means that the image title is read and then the url it refers to. Could be easily made more accessible for the visually impaired user relying on a screen reader.
