Duplicate Album Thumbnails
« on: September 21, 2018, 07:16:34 pm »

I have multiple duplicate album thumbnails and songs not being grouped into one Album thumbnail.
Its inconsistent on which albums with do this. It may show 5 songs under 5 album thumbnails.
The Albums are clearly grouped on my hard drive in their proper folders.
Anyway to fix this?
The tags are correct

Welcome to the forum.

Try editing the Album Artist tag.

What if they are different Artists from an Album?
I have several albums with multiple artists on each.
It shows them correctly if I expand the pane but look how it then splits the songs up because they are different artists.
The tags are correct unless you expect me to change the artists

take a good look, you have no album artist named....it needs to be various artist (s) multiple artists < what ever you decide. The top tag called [name] is the name of the track....It should also be noted that the name of the album needs to be the same across all tracks that go with the album...

in windows right click on the header and add the views you need to determine all the above info is correct the same works for MC

so the [Artist] tag can be the actual artist(s) but the [Album Artist] tag must be something like Various Artist or Various or multiple artists, bla bla but it MUST be consistently the same for the entire album (cd)

give it a try on one of the problem albums and watch the magic

this has to be the most asked question on this board!  ;)

What OHM is saying

Leave Artist Tag as the actual artist, make Album Artist = “Various Artists”

This will force all these tracks into the Album you want provided the Album Tag is the same in each case

It’s a M C hidden trick !

This worked!
My friend updated his from 23 to 24 and the album issue resolved itself.
I just purchased 23 a few weeks ago and not happy I just purchased a buggy program...

If you bought a few weeks ago, you have an MC24 license.  Just download and install MC24.
