RME ADI-2 no longer recognized
« on: October 14, 2018, 09:58:42 pm »

I recently added this DAC to my system using its latest driver and everything worked fine.

Suddenly, I get an error message of this type for file I try to play, regardless of its sample rate.

The verbatim message is attached. Seems related to a recent update.

Where do I start in order to resolve this?

BTW, the device supports every rate up to 768 kHZ, I believe it is.

Don't you love fiddling with computers rather than listening to music? Never sunk nearly as much time into the hardware side when vinyl was king. Now it's all about the gear rather than the music. Maybe one of these days things will settle down.

Finally found two entries for the RME ADI-2 in hidden devices within the device manager of Win 10. One of them indicated not connected/not working, the other connected and working. I deleted/uninstalled the non-working version and JRiver will once again play to that DAC at various sample rates. The error message from JRiver was certainly of no help in resolving this and in fact, kept me digging around in all the wrong spots.
