Need help for CD extraction
« on: December 11, 2018, 01:54:07 pm »

I have a problem to extract a CDA on my june 24, when I start extracting an information window opens saying: (the destination directory can be created for one or more files. Please check the destination directory in extractive options).
Can you help me so that I can extract this CDA, thanks 😊

There's a topic on the wiki about ripping CDs.

https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Ripping

By the way, .cda 'files' are not actual files at all, they act like shortcuts to the location of the audio on a CD. You'll have to rip the CD to a specific format, which depends on if you want lossless or lossy rips. I'd recommend FLAC for lossless, MP3 for lossy.

Thanks for your response, I think the CD Audio  I'm trying to extract must have copy protection.

If you have JRiver media center you only need to pop the cd into the drive and select rip cd in MC and it will copy the files on the cd to your computer. If you are looking at the cd  in windows explorer it will show a list of items with a .cda filetype but you cannot do anything with them except perhaps to ask windows to play them. As AD has explained these are just references to positions on the CD.

Hi I want to say thank you for your answer. Sorry my problem is not resolved, I will post another message later about it. I think the origine of my problems is linked wilh the JRiver serveur attack from September 2018. Now I lost 40% of my music files, 40 % of my Jacquet, I don’t do ripping, (extract) any cd in media center 24. I try 2 time uninstall media center unsuccessful...

Try a search for files from the OS. The server attack could not have caused any files to be lost.
