Hi (first post, Grüezi <- 'Hello' in Swiss German)

1) Hiby R6 (https://store.hiby.com/products/r6): Just bought JRiver for Android to try it out on my Hiby R6 (quite open Android 6.0.1 with working Play Store). Unfortunately it's not working. I can install JRiver, then it shows a white screen (really nothing more) and then Android is informing me, that JRiver does not respond. Too sad :-( If I can help to debug, you are welcome... Developer Mode on my Hiby R6 is already activated, but I'm an Android Dev Newbe (former high performance backend developer, but Erlang is somehow not suitable in the fancy app world ;-)

2) May there be a chance to run JRiver on Android DAPs which allow side-load APKs? Example (I own Astell & Kern SR 15 and a friend uses a Fiio M9): https://www.astellnkern.com/eng/content/support/faq/view.asp?li=1000606. I had contact with Astell & Kern and they are open to whitelist other Music specific apps. Currently TIDAL and Spotify are working on my DAPs without any problems.

Thanks,
Raphael

MC for Android needs a web browser to control/access everything via Panel. So try launching a web browser on the device (if there's one present) and accessing Panel to control MC for Android. That's the only way to control MC for Android at the moment. Assuming there's a web browser installed and set as the default browser in Android's settings, MC for Android *should* launch Panel automatically in a web browser upon starting. But you might need to try doing it manually.

Something like http://localhost:52199/Panel/ hopefully should work.

It's worth pointing out that MC for Android is in its early days still.

Thanks for your feedback. On Hibys R6 Chrome is installed (current version), but the connection on localhosts port 52199 is refused. Seems that MC is hanging, at least no browser is started nor does it show anything - the OS seems to 'lag' then a bit. A few seconds later Android shows a prompt to close the app and send a report to Google (unfortunately can not access the report). In MTP mode I do not see any valuable log files  - but to be honest, have not clue of Android (iOS user). How can I access more of the filesystem using USB debug mode (really have to install Android SDK)?

Will send A&K a hint.

Greetings :
This is exactly my complains a few days ago.
The 1st and 2nd releases of this Android version, I was able to use localhost or real IP to access my server from my Galaxy Note3 phone.
Thereafter using newer releases to point to the server where my files reside is not possible.
Note, also I have JRemote, EOS, and Gizmo installed with no issues connecting.
This Android release should also provide a way to let me key in login information.
The first two releases did let me provide authentication. Subsequent releases offered no eay.
Thanks
George

Hi George et al.

Ok, I was able to start MC on my Hiby R6 one or two times now - mainly directly after a reboot. The webview was shown in the MC App 'container'. One time I was forced to authenticate (just put in what you want) the other time not - strange. My audio files were not shown. No idea how to tell the App where to look. I put now some files on to the internal storage (/Music Folder) but I am not able to start the MC App anymore. It just does not work/start; tried shutdown, reboot, forced the app to shut down (process via Dev Tools)... no luck.
Still, I am confident that JRiver is able to get it to work reliably - I think is just a matter of time (that's the thing in software development - it's finished when its finished and usually you pay to test software ;-) If I can help somehow, I am willing to do so.

Try putting 1 or 2 MP3 files in the default music folder.

JRiver for Android only plays local files. Panel can play files from a server.
