MC24 hangs when playing a track
« on: March 26, 2019, 11:19:40 am »

Hi, I have a problem with MC24 Winx64. When I play any track the bar at the top does not display the track info and I cannot do anything else with the software, I just get the spinning circle of Win10 and have to force close the program.
The selected track does play to the end but there is no control of the player.
I have just upgraded to MC24.0078 (was on .75) to see if that cured the issue but the same behaviour happened.
I am allowed to make updates to the library and tags with no detrimental effect.
I have used MC24 on this computer for several months with no problems.

Did you change anything recently?

Antivirus?

Are the files local?

Try powering everything down and back up.

No nothing changed recently.
Using the same antivirus as when it was working.
Files are on a USB drive.
Have been through several reboots (shutdown and restart)

I did buy the MC25 license and tried to apply it but the software only shows my MC24 license.

You need to download MC25 and install it, then restore your license.

What is your antivirus?

Both Windows and the antivirus do change from time to time.

Thanks Jim.
I did not know that MC25 was available, it's not on the download page.
I have just rebooted after an audio driver update and, hey presto, it works again!!!!
