Issues copying ALAC to Handheld
« on: July 20, 2019, 10:32:26 am »

I am currently testing a whole new setup including JRiver Media Center 25.0.76 and FiiO M11 portable handheld.  I am having issues with MC copying my ALAC (m4a) files to the handheld either manuall or with sync function.  However, I am able to copy ALAC (m4a) files manually in windows.

I get the following message "insufficient rights or unsupported file types"

What am I missing?

Maybe Handheld Options > "File, Paths, & More > Supported Types"?

https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Sync_Handheld
https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Handheld_Sync_Options

If that is still set to "*" ALAC should work, otherwise the list of supported needs to include m4a. I'm pretty sure that setting uses files extensions, and not internal file types, but as I don't use ALAC, you have made me question my memory there. I use FLAC files with an extension of "*.flac", and some MP3s, so the issue hasn't come up for me.

Otherwise, I assume that the FiiO appears in MC under "Drives & Devices" when connected?

Also, search the forum for "FiiO". I'm pretty sure that has been lots of discussion on using them with Handheld Sync.

Success.   It was missing m4a under Supported Types.

I am surprised that the files m4a and m4v are not included, mp4 is.

thanks
