MediaCenter doesn't recognize optical drive on a Macbook Pro 9,2
« on: September 10, 2019, 09:06:12 pm »

The MediaCenter 24 or 25 does not recognize or see the optical drive on my MacBook Pro:

  Model Identifier:   MacBookPro9,2
  Processor Name:   Intel Core i7
  Processor Speed:   2.9 GHz

insert a DVD and it does not recognize it?

Any suggestions?

MC for Mac will play ripped UNencrypted video files though.  I recommend using MakeMKV, which can rip your DVDs into unencrypted MKV files.  Once that's done, you can import those files into MC, which can play the video files.
