JRiver Media Center 25.0.113 for Windows -- Available Here
« on: October 04, 2019, 01:50:53 pm »

This is a new build of JRiver Media Center 25.  Please post bugs here.  Please start a new thread for anything requiring discussion.  Non-bug posts will be deleted.

Download 32-bit build
http://files.jriver.com/mediacenter/channels/v25/latest/MediaCenter250113.exe (works on all systems)

Download 64-bit build
http://files.jriver.com/mediacenter/channels/v25/latest/MediaCenter250113-x64.exe (works on 64 bit systems only)

25.0.113 (10/4/2019)

1. Fixed: DVB TV channels did not play.

25.0.112 (10/4/2019)

1. Fixed: Revised the fix for thumbnail duplication in Theater View.

25.0.111 (10/3/2019)

1. Fixed: Thumbnails in Theater View could be duplicated.

25.0.110 (10/3/2019)

1. Changed: The disc count and HDCD tools are stopped at shutdown instead of blocking shutdown.
2. Fixed: Dragging and dropping list items in the Tag window did not flag the data as dirty so the change would be discarded.
3. Changed: If TreePath, Device, or Search is specified on the command line, the control and shift checks for filtering the media type will be disabled.

25.0.109 (10/2/2019)

1. Fixed: The maximum encode size wasn't being passed as an int64 so it could overflow on big files and cause encoding to fail.
2. Fixed: Doing "Paste All From Clipboard" on a list editor in the Tag window would not reliably save the data.
3. Fixed: Editing tags in a popup would not mark them as dirty so they would not be saved.
4. Fixed: The "Show Files In Subfolders" checkbox was not working.

25.0.108 (9/30/2019)

1. Fixed: SRT subtitles could appear multiple times in the menu.
2. Changed: Made the disc count algorithm count actual discs instead of take the max disc number.
3. Changed: Made the maximum allowable size of a Podcast larger because we found real world Podcasts larger than our previous cap size.

25.0.107 (9/27/2019)

1. Fixed: Undid the "All channels" handling in the Parametric Equalizer volume and mute filters because it was causing all channels to be processed even if only selected ones were checked.

25.0.106 (9/25/2019)

1. Fixed: We were not passing the array of files into the expression for thumbnails so things like GroupCount(...) were not working properly.

25.0.105 (9/25/2019)

1. NEW: Added the ItemCount(...) expression to allow giving the count of all the files in the database with the same album, artist, album key, etc.
2. Changed: Made the DLNA servers dialog larger and made it sizable.
3. Changed: When playing to the WDM driver, Media Center will no longer jump to Playing Now (even if it's set to).
4. NEW: Made the program update the 'Total Discs' for all the files in the library at startup (files not marked dirty, so shouldn't cause tagging).

25.0.104

Changed: Some internal changes like the handling of video analysis.

Accessing an MC 25.0.113 playlist from the Panel either on the same computer or remotely does not work, at least on my setup.  Can access a playlist, but it either won't play (returns to panel home screen) or MC 25.0.113 closes without warning.

We found a bug that is probably the cause of this, so it should be fixed in the next build.

Ummm. Yeah. So what is the problem?

When you go to "DSP & output format" MC will take you to the function last used. Maybe if it was the first time you went there, MC just took you to the last item, Analyzer.

So just select one of the other items. Like... "Output Format" at the top, if that was what you were looking for.

Still can't hear correct audio on football games. As instructed I right click on the Audio Program and get two choices. The first is the overhead without the announcers, the 2nd is the normal feed but with Spanish language. I don't speak Spanish so that is no help. As I have said previously the HdHome run software gives me the correct audio by default so I know it can be done. So far this is only a problem with college football (in this case the Penn state / Michigan game on 10/19). Also I don't understand how one can set up the SAP for recording? I closed Media Center (without clicking the stop button on the vcr control) and the audio keep running. I had to reboot. I have been having this problem for the last 2 versions. I just renewed for MC 26 so I hope that we can get it fixed someday.

Start a new thread of your own in the Television forum, and we will explain how to fix this permanently for you.

Don't post is Release Note threads, or Feature Request threads, as you won't get attention. Also, once you create a thread, keep an eye on it for responses.

EDIT: I found your old thread and posted in there. Take a look and respond if you want help. You seem to have given up last time: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,120238.msg849191.html#msg849191

I just upgraded from MC 24 to 25 (Portable Install).
Then i made a Library Backup with Settings in MC 24 an tried to restore it in MC25.
Library was created in MC25 but settings from MC 24 (Zones, Startup....) not.
As i said, it's only on portable installs! Restoring the Backup from a normal Install works like it should.

Please, have a look at this bug. Thanks!

A registered user of version 24, a month ago I downloaded version 25 which just expired. Today I purchased version 26 (yet to be released). I would like to use version 25 but what SN do I use? Do I have to relaunch version 24 to use the product until 26 comes out?

You can use the MC26 license in MC25, as long as you're using MC 25.0.108 and above.

Bug report
If I do a search for any artist (or any search you want) and then sort by name (or any other sort by), as soon as I play it reverts back to default view

Hi
I installed MC25 in January and have it installed on my laptop and on my desktop.  A few times now when I launch the program it does a reinstall and then asks me to restore the license.  I got an email to say I have only 5 restores remaining.  I don't understand why this is happening as I have not installed it on any other computers.
regards
Jose

'Options: Tree & View - Auto size columns' does not actually do so.

When I move to a new Playlist/Smartlist or folder for tagging or working in an albums folder, I must manually click the header and select 'Auto-Size All Columns' for the columns to actually expand to the full width of their contents.

So why does this work manually but yet ignore the Option telling it to do so?

Am I misinterpreting the option to mean something it doesn't (although it seems self-explanatory), or is it not working?

I'm not able to reproduce this.  I turn on column auto-sizing and each new view sizes the columns.  Right-click and choosing auto-size just uses the exact same size.

I wonder if there's some other option coming into play?

Thanks.

It's mostly occurring in Playlists, but does do it in the Explorer section at times particularly with longer entries.

Is this function at all related to a large number of columns in the view causing longer entries to be truncated?

I think views that update on a thread don't auto-size the columns properly.

I'll try to address it in a coming MC26.  The history:
Changed: Auto-size of columns would not work in views that filled files in a thread.

Thanks for the help.

There is also the setting: "Options > Tree & View > Advanced > Allow auto size to cut off long values". That might be what you are seeing with long values.

Yep. Turning that off makes a big difference in Playlists and MC Explorer.

I believe you are correct as that option was in fact checked.

Just upgraded from JRiver 24 to JRiver 26. Panel seems very broken. JRiver actually crashes when trying to access Smartlists from Panel. Any ETA on the fix yet?

26 isn't out yet.  25?

Try rebooting and reinstalling.

speaking of panel... on Touch IE on windows 8.1 the panel doesn't work right.

The option to play will start playing the track but no controls work and the context/rightclick/tap menu is stuck on and I can't do anything on the panel till I refresh the browser.

Was wanting to repurpose my old windows 8.1 tablet as a web browser (metro only) for when my hubby or I is sick in bed and need something easy to use when doped up lol...

Any way to fix that or any other metro browsers that work with it. Can't install the WOMedia thing a member on here made since that's win 10 only.

There is a fix for it in 25.0.114, but it isn't available yet. It should be available soon.

I'm not sure what browsers are available for the device, but if you can, try using Panel with Chrome or Firefox.

It works but those browsers are very clunky on that tablet :( that thing only has 1GB RAM. IE is very fast on it (touch one is anyways)
