In Media Center, the options specify directory locations to be used, but these are not picked up by Media Editor

I have specified a Temp Directory for MC on a drive which has lot sof spare space.  When Media Editor starts, it attempts to create temporary files in the windows default temporary location which is on a drive where there is not enough space to edit large sound files.

Should Media Editor not follow the settings io Media Center?
