[Solved] Update/Upgrade to Version 26?
« on: November 30, 2019, 12:12:18 am »

With respect to Audio, does Version 26 have any significant updates or changes from Version 21? I use MC almost exclusively for Audio and was debating if I should upgrade to V 26.

WDM driver, SoX resampler option, memory playback options, HDCD decoding, TPDF dithering option, etc.

I don't understand any of those terms, so I guess I don't need to update the program.

I once asked a caveman who was using flint stone to chop down a tree if he would like to have an axe.

He said he didn't know what that was, so he guessed he didn't need it.

Of course, the caveman didn't have access to Google.

The reason I asked was because I'm using Version 21 (Windows) and it does pretty much everything I need to do. Just to be sure, I just read thru all of the "NEW in Version XX" posts.

MC 26 has higher quality options for resampling and dithering, which will improve your audio quality a bit, if you care about that.

Also, DSP Studio no longer constantly resizes itself when you switch between modules.  That was a big annoyance.  And the analyzer properly uses different colors for multi-channel audio.

It has built-in lyrics lookup.

There are also some good improvements in the expression language if you use that.
