Customized library view not available with Moon Mind2 app.
« on: January 03, 2020, 04:26:58 pm »

Hi all,

I installed Media Center yesterday for evaluation before deciding on buying or not.
For the most part, I can already say that MC is doing things that I like.
But there is one thing that bothers me.

Customized library views don’t seem to be accessible through my DAC’s proprietary App (Simaudio Moon 390 with Mind2 app with Androïd tablet).
I tried with BubbleUPnP app and it’s the same, customized library views are unavailable.
I also tried Gizmo but the overall look and feel of the App were not to my liking.
I don’t recall if the said views were available; I think not.

Is this a limitation inherent to MC or is there a way to set this up somewhere in the parameters?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Regards,

Under Media Network > Advanced > Customize Views ..., you can change what JRiver specific remotes will see.

The wiki has a topic on Remotes.  You could start with Panel.

Hi JimH,

Thanks for the advice.
Unfortunately, it works only with Gizmo.

As good as MC might be so far; to speak frankly, Gizmo looks and feels antiquated.
The menus are basic. The navigation is not intuitive. Etc...
The whole thing could do with a fresh makeover.

I’ve seen Jremote2 which is currently under development.
Looks promising but since I haven’t decided yet on buying MC, I’m reluctant to buy the app.

Besides, my tablet is getting old (runs Android 4.4.2).
At this point, it is unclear whether the new JRemote will be compatible.

I guess I’ll give myself some time to ponder my options.
Thanks again.
