multi channel SACD ISO - Stereo 24Bit Flac
« on: January 07, 2020, 09:31:10 am »

Hallo,
Beginners question :
When I import the SACD ISO audio file in RM it shows all the files twice. Probably because it are multi channel files. Ripping them in 2 channel Stereo results in  40 files in stead off 20. Is there a workaround for this problem?
Thank You

I do not know what RM is but ISOs should contain all the files on the source disc and, therefore, whether you specify stereo or multichannel, they are all still in the ISO.  You need to extract them as DSFs (for example) to get one set or the other.

Sorry, RM " RIVER Media Center"
I have extract them in River Media Center directly in 24 Flac files.

It's not River Media Center.  It's JRiver Media Center.

How are you doing this?  If you are extracting the entire ISO, you get both stereo and MCH tracks.  OTOH, if you only highlight/select the stereo tracks for conversion to FLAC, that is all you would get.

I think that it is better to split the ISO with ISO2DSD (From Sonore) and than convert them to STEREO with JRiver MediaCenter. ISO2DSD splits the ISO in the exact number of files.

No multichannel to stereo conversions needed, just extract only the stereo tracks from the ISO and you're off to the races.

Of course, this is the right tool for the task, as is the newer SACDExtractGUI which is faster, more powerful and flexible.

I second this, although the venerable ISO2DSD is perfectly capable and gets the job done, SACDExtractGUI is the state-of-the-art with regard to speed and function since fall 2018. This is particularly true for extraction of DST compressed multichannel tracks, where there is up to a 4x speed increase in extraction from ISO.
