MC 26 Theatre View play button
« on: March 22, 2020, 01:04:14 pm »

In 26 when I find a new song to listen to and press the Play button on my remote it acts like I pressed the Pause button. It only pauses the currently playing track it does not start the track I have chosen. If I hit Play a second time the original track continues to play. Is there a setting I am missing somewhere? Using 25 resolves the issue and pressing the Play button plays the track I have highlighted.

Thanks,

You just need to hit Stop first if you're trying to start new playback.

Matt thanks for the response. So this is a change from all previous versions of MC? No way I can make it revert back to the MC 25 way?

Thanks

This was changed in 25.0.74 (7/8/2019)
Changed: The play button on a remote when playback is paused will unpause instead of looking for something new to play.

I think the change makes sense.  If you stop playback, then nothing will be playing and play will start what is selected.

Thanks for the info Matt. I actually thought that while in Playing Now the Play button did act like hitting the Pause button a second time (or for that matter pausing the track if you were hitting it while the track was playing.) and only started playing a different track if you had moved out of Playing Now and had highlighted a different track. My mistake.

Thanks
