Trailers - "There is nothing to play."
« on: April 12, 2020, 12:24:54 am »

I kept getting an error "There is nothing to Play." when trying to play trailers.

I installed the Microsoft redistributable package and that fixed it.

Is that something I should have known? Just trying to figure out why I missed it.

On the flip side, I've been using MC since MC21. I love the new features in MC26. I upgraded just for the trailers, but I'm really enjoying all the new upgrades as well.

Take care,

Rob

I had the same issue on the HTPC machine, but not on the server machine...

Am not sure if this is something the installer can check for and install if missing, or not.

Funny enough, it worked on my laptop that I use as a guinea pig, but not my HTPC...

I was running 26.0.56, so I don't know if it's a version thing. Both PC's installed the plugin, but the HTPC did not have the redistributable.

I wonder if MC was supposed to install the redistributable as part of the plugin installation, but did not...

Thanx for the info.

Take care,

Rob

Just installed MC 26.0.56 on my other HTPC. It worked perfectly...

So right now my two Win7 machines that worked, and my Win10 did not. Here are the three OS:
Win7 64bit laptop --> Worked
Win7 32bit HTPC --> Worked
Win10 64 bit HTPC --> nogo

In all cases, I installed the 32 bit version of MC for compatibility with G-Force Visualizer (I had problems in the past with 64 bit MC and G-Force)...

Marko, what was the OS of each system you tested?

Kinda curious if this is OS related...

Thank you,

Rob
