CD Playback
« on: July 21, 2020, 06:45:26 pm »

I have only two complaints for jriver, both are about CD playback function.

1. CD autoplay works like a charm, but re-insert the second cd is totally not working since.

2. JRemote has no visibilty to initiate to play CD, unless it’s already playing.

You're just playing, not ripping?

It's the same sound.  Maybe you're using DSP on one.  Volume leveling, for example.  It would reduce the volume and not sound the same.

Don’t want to enter that sort of discussion, had a search on here and looks like some other people having the same feeling. Would hold on to the current version 26 unless this functionality is sorted.

It's exactly the same and identical. If it sounds different to you, you're probably using different software to playback or going through some other hardware like a different sound card, or maybe it's different volume.

I often find the Kindle books I download are more interesting on an actual Kindle than reading off my phone.
I would strongly recommend getting into ripping.

Ripping a disc to a lossless format like FLAC is able to guarantee that you have a bit-perfect copy, so long as secure ripping is enabled.
Real-time playback of a disc cannot guarantee that - it may introduce uncorrected errors.

The best possible scenario for playback is that it matches the rip - which plays back the same every time.
