Clients are not getting updated tags from Media Server

I've been trying to fix this problem for some time now. Its odd because it only happens on some files. I will get movie and tv info and tag the file. everything looks great. cover art and the name are correct. Looks great in the main library but whenever i go to the client computers that are connecting to that main library they show a wrong name and sometimes a wrong cover art. You name it and I feel like I have tried it. I feel like those fields(name) aren't being updated in the database and the clients are pulling database information not the tagged items info. I have been using this client server setup for probably 5 or more years.

They won't stay in sync unless you turn on Authentication in Media Network settings.

I also noticed another part of the behavior I am seeing. Lets say I change the cover art for a movie and when I synch changes to the library on the client when i scroll through I see the old art. Then when i click on the file the art immediately changes to the new art. Scroll back old art. It doesnt feel like all the library changes are being synched every time either. Sometimes its just immediate and nothing changes. Wish there was a log to view on the changes.

I just looked back and it looks like I have been buying JRiver since 2013 so this library on the client that has been synching with the server is probably really old. Anyway to just start the client from scratch? I have 3 other clients so I don't want to mess those up.

When you connect a client to a server, the client downloads the library database from the server.

Does do it do that only once or each time it connects to it? It doesn't seem to be syncing the changes from my main server to the client. 99% of the movies are fine there are just a few that are broken and don't look like the server.

No luck on the reconnect. Its so weird. All the cover art and name changes that I added for a bunch of concerts I have did not transfer over to the clients either.

Maybe you're editing in one version of MC on your server and running Media Server on a different version.  Uninstall any old versions.  Make sure you're running the same version everywhere.

Client libraries aren't updated until they re-connect.

Try power cycling everything.

Its the same versions running but there are old versions on those boxes. I never uninstalled any of them. I will do that today. Thanks for the idea

It's very well known that if cover art has changed, a Client won't show the new cover art until you close MC on the Client, then delete the contents of:
C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 27\Thumbnails
Then restart MC on the client.
