Is there a Keyboard Hot-key for Close Media Server?
« on: March 01, 2021, 02:45:20 pm »

Hi,
Is there a Keyboard Hot-key for Close Media Server?
I have looked but could not find any information.

Best regards,

"mc27 /close" works, but there's no hotkey (that I know of).

You can create a shortcut on Windows desktop/start menu and assign it an hotkey like CTRL+ALT+K (kill), though I find this doesn't work all the time. It's more reliable to use some other Hotkey mapper like AutoHotKey.

I assume you know you can right click on the icon in the notification bar.

Why do you need to close it?

Thank you for your reply,

I have recently installed a new AV-processor, Anthem AVM 70, and there is this strange scaling issue I have with madvr that scales 1920x1080 and 3840x2160 resolution movies to a 4608x2592 resolution.

I have tried to troubleshoot this issue with the help of Madvr support forum but not finding an obvious solution.

The simple solution to my problem is to exit JRiver server and restart JRiver when Anthem AVM 70 and the projector is up and running. After that shutdown of server and restart of JRiver (including server) there are no scaling issues.

I did not have this issue when I used my previous AVR Marantz SR 7011, so I’m leaning towards some weird scaling stuff going on with my Anthem AVM 70 and Madvr.

So, my thinking for now is to automate the shutdown and restart of JRiver server when Anthem AVM 70 and projector is turned on with the help of Flirc and Switchbot.

I already have this automation where JRiver starts in Theater view when the projector and AVM 70 is up and running and I would like before that to turn off JRiver server so I can start JRiver fresh.

I will continue to troubleshoot but I’m not confident that I can solve this as it only appeared when I introduced a new AV-processor.

It might be worthwhile using Red October HQ without modification, just to see what happens.

Check your Windows display settings ... [Scale and Layout]->[Change the size of text, app, and other items] ... is it by any chance set to 120%?

Try setting it to 100% (I know the text will be super small ... but just try to see if problem goes away)

Yes, you were right tij.
I found out what was causing my problem.
I had the percentage points in windows scale & layouts mismatched between my two screens.
That was what caused the weird scaling issue in JRiver/Madvr.

Now that I have both screens at 150% I do not have this issue any more.

@JimH You can move this to the "Weird and wonderful (freak problems and their solutions)" thread if you like.

Best regards and thanx for the help,
